Welcome graphic

Established in 1986, our family farm takes great pride in growing nutritious, handpicked, locally grown BC fruits and vegetables.  Our vine ripened produce ensures the freshest taste while maintaining the highest level of food safety.  In 2007, we took our fresh locally grown fruits and veggies and started canning preserves right on the farm!  Our pickles, jams, and jellies have a homemade wholesome taste and are created using fresh, family farm ingredients.  No preservatives or additives!

Market idea blooms  The Langley Farmer's Market starts in July. Heather Colpitts, Langley Advance Published: Tuesday, May 05, 2009Langley is home to some of the best agricultural land in the province yet there's been little opportunity for consumers to buy directly from growers.Residents wanting to buy and vendors wanting to sell have to go to places like Surrey, White Rock, or Abbotsford for markets. That changes July 8 when the Langley Farmer's Market and runs 3-7 p.m. Wednesdays until Oct. 7. The hours will allow people to go there after work and doesn't interfere with weekends."It's an opportunity for farmers to be able to sell in their own community," commented Angie Quaale, the owner of Well Seasoned gourmet store and a member of the organizing committee. She and others in the community have been independently researching and lobbying for a market but nothing had come to fruition. It wasn't until Kwantlen Polytechnic University offered up support and a site (the parking lot off just off the Langley Bypass) that the market became a reality."We're going to have a great location and a great variety of vendors," said Tom Reinhart, the president of greenhouses Katatheon Farms and Glenwood Valley Farms, and planning committee member. "Langley's been begging for a farmer's market."A committee of producers, educators, environmentalists, retailers and other supporters has been working since last autumn to bring the market from the bud of an idea to full bloom. The group has formed a not-for profit society to oversee the market, something many consider long overdue for Langley.Kwantlen greenhouse and nursery chair Gary Jones explained that the committee surveyed potential vendors to come up with a Wednesday evening market.Because the market starts well after producers have had to do their planning for the year, the committee also wanted to make sure vendors would have stock and existing markets weren't shortchanged."We currently have 26 farmers who are committed to attending and another 17 interested," Jones said. The society will determine who can sell as products must be made, baked or grown by the sellers. Any crafters will go through a jurying process and anyone selling food must have health certification.
